Welcome to the Blue Springs Of Saula !! ••••• In Estonia, springs have always been considered holy, most were thought to have healing powers. Old folks considered that the water of these springs heals all ailments but only if you sacrifice silver jewelry, money or beads. But if you do not offer a sacrifice, a Harju County spirit called Blue Springs Tölp might just come and get you! So you better bring those jewelries !! 🦟🦟🦟 Well in my experience you can forget the silver jewelries but DO NOT FORGET THE ANTI-MOSQUITO SPRAYS !! Luckily I always have one in my backpack while travelling because the mosquitoes here are humongous and I think might be capable of sucking out all the blood out of your body !! To get to this beautiful blue springs you need to walk through the forest for 10 minutes approximately and if you don’t spray anti-mosquito spray like Romain did this is going to be quite a challenge !! 💀🦟💀 Blue Springs of Saula include three quite large springs with a water flow of 20–30 m per second. The variation in colour of the springs — Siniallikas greenish blue, Mustallikas brownish black and Valgeallikas greyish blue is caused by light reflecting on sand particles, floating on the bottom of the springs, through the clear waters. OMG look the Prison is sinking !!! 😱🙈😛 Jussstttt kidding !! This prison in Rummu quarry was already established in the 1940s by the Soviet Union. It was built in a convenient location, on the lip of a limestone quarry in which the inmates were forced to toil . But after the independence of Estonia in 1991 the Soviets moved out and many of their properties were abandoned including this prison !! Without anyone to look after the maintenance this place got filled with natural groundwater rapidly and formed a lake with crystal clear water !! And thus a place where prisoners were forced to mine has now become a famous diving spot !! ✨ ✨ ✨ Travel tip – This place is located at 50 minutes of drive from Tallinn . It is now a private property and entry fees is 3€ per person . There is a parking for free and a small café within the property !! We will always be chasing the sun !! Who’s with me ?? 🔅🔅🔅 I will be the first person to admit that mornings can be difficult, and getting up early always feels like a chore. But every once in a while, especially when we are travelling we get up at the crack of dawn and venture out to get a glimpse of one of Mother Nature’s beautiful gifts !! There’s something so magnificent about watching sunrises in new cities !! ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ Patkuli Viewing Platform is situated in one of the most ancient parts of Tallinn. This is known as the second most well-known vantage point to see Tallinn’s fairytale Town Wall and towers, St. Olav’s Church , the Baltic sea and the harbor area. But honestly this is my favorite one !! Самый большой фейл в путешествиях мог случиться со мной в 2011 году. ⠀ Тогда я и моя двоюродная сестра купили за большие деньги (по тогдашним меркам, да что уж, и по нынешним) путевки в Мексику и на Кубу. ⠀ Это должно было быть двухнедельное приключение. Все перелеты, трансферы, гостиницы и даже несколько экскурсий входили в стоимость тура. ⠀ Тогда мы жили в Новосибирске. Прилетев в Шереметьево, и дойдя неспешным шагом до стойки регистрации, мы столкнулись с очень странной ситуацией. С улыбкой подав паспорта, мы заметили на лице девушки хмурые брови. «Хм»,- сказала она, «а билет есть только для вас, Александра, и вашего двухлетнего ребёнка». «Что?», — не поверив переспросила я. «Посмотрите на мою сестру, ей явно не 2 года». ⠀ Она показала нам дату рождения «ребёнка» и оказалось, что это дата выдачи паспорта сестры. Работники тур фирмы совершили ошибку. ⠀ Мы судорожно начали звонить в агенство. Времени до окончания регистрации оставалось мало. ⠀ Знаете этот момент, когда звонишь в какую-либо организацию, а там вначале долгое приветствие, а затем предлагают нажать один, если тебе нужен такой то специалист, два, если другой. А я напоминаю, 2011 год, роуминг по России ещё существует. ⠀ Около часа мы разбирались с ними, как быть дальше. В итоге они не смогли оперативно решить наш вопрос и попросили купить за свой счёт новый билет на Кубу. А тем временем регистрацию на рейс уже закрыли. ⠀ Благо сотрудники Шереметьево оказались отзывчивыми и пошли нам на встречу. Дальше мы просто бежали. В самолёт зашли самые последние, когда все уже были готовы к полёту. ⠀ Ps. 2011 год. Доллар стоил 30 рублей. Вы помните эти времена?🙈 На человека путевка из Москвы со всеми перелетами стоила 120 тысяч или 4 тысячи долларов . Если умножить на нынешний курс это получится около 250 тысяч. Интересно, можно ли так вообще считать🤷🏻‍♀️ ⠀ Как ни странно, обратно вылетая с Канкуна, наш рейс вообще отменили. If you really want to enjoy the charming, medieval Old Town of Tallinn, make sure you visit it before it’s swarmed with tourists! This photo was taken outside the Viru Gate (the same place visible from @soloestoria hotel rooms)! During our trip in Estonia, we went to the island of Saaremaa, and visited this cute place called Āngla, and full of windmills! They were built at the beginning of the 20th century! They are extremely well preserved and the rest of the island has also kept its beautiful wildness, as the island was closed to the public until 1991! 💃🏻🌤✨ ::::: Travel info: you need to take a ferry to go to this island, so book it in advance, especially if you go for the Midsummer Eve (Estonian love to go to the countryside to celebrate if, and all the ferries are booked in advance) 🇪🇪 ::::: This is my last picture from Estonia (but I will share some more in my stories tomorrow)! Tallinn is a medieval fairytale city in my opinion! And I clearly felt like a princess twirling in the old town! I hope I’ll go back around Christmas. I heard it gets even more magical! 💃🏻💕☀️ ::::: A lot of you are surprised by how much light there is Estonia early morning. I went there at the end of June (for the solstice). During that time the sunset is around 22:30PM and the sunrise at 4AM 🌅. But there is light until midnight (easily) and it starts getting clear around 3AM. And the night isn’t completely dark neither, the horizon stays clear. Morning light in the beautiful Tallinn!
